MBC Soccer Loses First Conference Game
Danville, VA - The Mary Baldwin College soccer team suffered their first lost of the season this afternoon 0-9 to Averett University, who was picked to finish second in the USA South.
The Cougars scored their first goal in the 17th minute off of a corner kick that was headed in by Pernilla Milton. Ten minutes later, Milton added her second goal of the game giving Averett a 2-0 lead. Averett added a third at the 35:33 minute mark.
Averett (2-3, 1-0 USA South) rolled in the second half rarely leaving MBC's half of the field. They outshot Mary Baldwin 46-0. Baldwin's freshman goalie, Erin Dullahan, finished the game with 12 saves.
Mary Baldwin (4-1, 0-1 USA South) will welcome two USA South opponents at home this weekend taking on Ferrum on Saturday and Maryville on Sunday.
